Killer Abs has a lot of potential, but it also has more than a few problems. First, it needed someone to proofread it. The sentence structure is awkward, it is poorly punctuated, and sometimes characters are referred to by the name of a different character. Second, the ending was too rushed. It had barely been established that something strange was going on at the club before the climax happened. Also, a major character was introduced just pages before the end of the book. Good idea, poor execution. (Pun intended.) There wasn't much humor to this "horror comedy," and although there was gratuitous splatter, the horror build-up was also lacking. Why is there a murderer loose in a weight-loss camp, anyway? Nothing is ever really explained, and the ending is an overly swift wrap-up that doesn't help matters. Somehow the main character emerges triumphant, despite being at the mercy of a homicidal maniac only seconds prior. Not sure how the author jumped from point A to Good idea, poor execution. Not sure how the author jumped from point A to point Z there, and I'd like to see a more logical plot progression. Nice try, but misses the mark.

Seriously the worst thing ever. It started out a bit intriguing. Kinda funny. But in the end this book was... One star, because I have to give it something. I guess.

This was my first time reading a novella. I enjoyed it and didn't like it all at the same time. At 42 pages this could easily be read in one sitting, or for the occasional reader with not much time, in a week. The story was good, but there were so many details that left room for more, I felt as though I was waiting for the story to start throughout most of the book. I did enjoyed the ending, and it was definitely left in such a way as to lead into additional novellas using the same characters. T This was my first time reading a novella. That is nice because once you fall in love with a character it's fun to follow them around a little longer.

I got 'Killer Abs' from First Reads Giveaway, and it's my Honest Review. Instead of giving compliment, I'd like rather to give some critics for writing development. The book is look-liked short story-thriller film narrative or summary/plot. And, I just found very bit of funny. The main character cooperating with antagonist character at the end of story, the problem is antagonist character have 'not humanity' character,so it looks like kill the angel character or Matt. The story has a good premise and a promising start, but as it progresses it begins to feel rushed. As another reader has mentioned, the comedy element is missing - for something calling itself a horror comedy, this seems to be a huge oversight. Unfortunately, it also suffers from some clunky narrative and a lack of good copy-editing, which I found irritating. This lack of care ('lose' and 'loose' are not interchangeable!) also makes it difficult to engage well with the story. Enjoyed the author's first book and was curious as to how his next piece would pan out. Blackest of black humor take on the modern fitness / body craze with some unexpected action and interesting characters. Fits in a lot into its fairly short length. Good fun and an enjoyable night's read. Recommended.

I received this book via Goodreads Giveaway, This book is meant for a good short read, and I finished it in one go. It was a good short read, at parts it is hardcore horror while at others it exhibits good comedy. In all it can be said that it delivers what it promises to deliver, a delightful short read with portions of fear and laughter.

This is my first book that I got from the Goodreads giveaway. It's a funny story about an important issue, which is obesity. But I'm not used to the quick flow of the events that I think it's somewhat confusing. And I agree that there's errors just like the part when Jane was being described under Catherine's name. Nonetheless, it's still an entertaining book.

Having won this book I was a little disappointed that it was only 45 pages long. I'm sorry to say that I didn't find anything funny. It was interesting for the halfl an hour it took me to read, but it's not long enough to be called a book. I'm sorry I couldn't have given a better review.

A fun horror read. I liked that it wasn't so focused on being funny that it failed to be funny. Too bad it ends just as it's getting going. (It's more 3.5 than 4 stars, but I prefer to round up.)
