Some of these recipes are great, but they're a bit redundant. Why do I need a recipe for pork and apples and the same one for pork and fruit?

MUCH better than the first one I read. This one actually has very useful information about starting the diet. The most disappointing part(s) of this book were the massive amount of typos and the insipid, washed out photos of the food.

Paleo diets are becoming very popular. The author of this cookbook has taken the time to highlight the basics of the diet, share the origins, and give an acceptable list of ingredients. The book begins with instructions on how to "go paleo", and a 28-day challenge using the recipes from the book. Almost every recipe has a colored photograph and the instructions are easy to follow. The author presented the facts logically and the book felt well researched. The recipes were varied and easy to exec Paleo diets are becoming very popular. The bright colorful photographs makes the book attractive and helps in getting a feel of how the recipe should work. The meals look easy to make and the diet as a whole is presented in such a way that it doesn't feel intimidating. While I do not intend to adopt a complete paleo diet, I do intend to incorporate several of the concepts and make more of the recipes. And I would definitely recommend this book for anyone wanting to start eating paleo or who wants to add more recipes to their diet. I received this book free of charge from Goodreads in exchange for my honest review.

I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads giveaway, which is awesome. To be honest I haven't tried any of the recipes yet but I can't wait to try them. There are a lot of grain free recipes that I cannot wait to try! Maybe after the summer I will be able to put this book to good use. Also thanks Anna Conrad for also sending me a free Paleo bread book to go along with my Paleo cookbook, that was so nice :)

** a First Reads review ** Like most cookbooks, there were way too many fishy recipes to suit our family as none of us eat seafood, and organ meats?? Ew. But I can't knock it just because we're picky. This is a pretty basic, intro to Paleo cookbook. What I liked best about it were the lists of acceptable Paleo foods in the beginning, and the space for charting your 28-day meal plan.

I really liked this book and I really wish I liked enough veggies that I could lean towards this more. I think my friend Megan would like this a lot.
