Author Liora Houbara, an expert in her field as a clinical dietician as well as a best selling author (2009), has developed a pleasant and colorful method to reach out to a much younger reading audience. "Eating 5 Colors with Foodie the Dwarf" is the ideal introduction to express the need for good nutrition and better eating habits in young children. This book creatively suggests the importance of eating fresh fruits and vegetables by utilizing two lovable characters. Adam, a young boy who refuses to eat well clearly demonstrates the negative consequences of not doing so....and the unexpected arrival of his new friend Foodie the dwarf, who manages to convince him to try this necessary food group. This talented author introduces the colorful idea of discovering nutritional fruits and vegetables to coincide with 5 different and vibrant colors. The illustrations in this educational children's book positively add to this learning opportunity and pleasant reading experience which is sure to be enjoyed by young children. Author Liora Houbara has done an excellent job of impressing upon both children and parents the great need for better eating habits. What better way to encourage children to eat properly...to start proper dietary nutritional habits...than to reach out at the youngest of age when all habits are being formed. It has been said that, "good habits are as hard to break as bad ones", so why not make the good ones at the earliest of age and keep them? I think this is exactly the concept that talented Author Liora Houbara is trying to stress and I strongly agree with her colorful way of doing so!
