The little girl talks about what it is like being a big sister such as getting to sleep in a big bed, while the baby sleeps in a baby bed. The little girl also talks about getting to help out with the baby and what having a baby in the house is like. Lastly, the little girl talks about all the things she is able to do since she is older and tells the baby that when it is older, it will be able to do the same things as she can. Themes: The themes presented in this book are love and independence. Personal Response: Personally, I loved this picture book. I have an older sister, so reading this book made me wonder if this is how she felt while she was the older sister when I was still a baby. This picture book did a great job of touching on what it is like being a big sister and what having a baby in the house will be like. This topic was introduced in a great way for a young audience and would be a great book for parents to read before having their second child. Why I Would Recommend: I would recommend this book because I think it is an excellent job at telling the story of what it is like being a big sister. I think this is a great book that parents can read to their first child while they are expecting their second child. This book would be a great way to start off the discussion of what it will be like to have a younger sibling. Also, this book does a great job at highlighting that even though there is a new child in the home, parents still make just as much of an effort to spend time with the first child.

I just finished reading this book with my younger daughter who is an older sister. Who am i kidding. She read the book to me. She loved the story and really liked the illustrations. I enjoyed the story and pictures as well. A really great story to read with a child who is about to become a big sibling or already is. I recommend to anyone with a younger child either to read to or read with. Great story!

A lovely book for welcoming a new arrival into the family. The book celebrates the great things about being a big sister. Sometimes there can be a lot of jealousy and anxiety in the the family when you are expecting a new arrival, however this book nicely illustrates how there is enough love and cuddles to go round and there is nothing to be afraid of. Great illustrations! Also available is 'Big Brothers Are The Best'. A lovely book for welcoming a new arrival into the family. The book celebrates the great things about being a big sister. Very Sweet Story I bought this book for my granddaughters who are now experiencing siblings. They enjoy the story but I like the illustration which is beautifully done. I also appreciate the two parent Family base that has become so uncommon in this day and age.

This book details what is it like to adapt to change within the family. It talks about a big sister who loves her sister and does not feel forgotten about when the new baby comes along. Personal Reflection: This is another book I read growing up as a child. Being an older sister, my parents read me this book before my little sister was born. It showed me how to take care of her and be gentle with her, and it also showed me that there was no need to be jealous of her; our parents loved us the same. Recommendation: I recommend this book to anyone who is growing their family and want to show their child how to take care of their siblings respectfully. It is important for children to know they are all equally appreciated by their parents and this is a good and positive way to do it.
