I received this book through a giveaway from goodreads. It took me a really long time to write a review because I actually wanted to make a few of the recipes first. The first great thing about this book is that every recipe has a photo. I love that I makes me so much more interested in trying the recipe if I can see how great it can look. All of the recipes that I made were delicious and my family had no idea that they were gluten free! There was also a wide variety of different dishes. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in gluten free cooking it is great!

Recipes call for gluten-free all purpose flour, which some may find convenient, but I don't like the uncertainty. The book recommends several commercial brands, all with xanthan or guar gum, or offers three blends of its own that you can use interchangeably, but again, who knows what you're going to get. In fact, most of the baked goods pictured don't look all that appealing, though I'm considering trying their hamburger buns because those do look pretty nice. In fact, most of the baked goods pictured don't look all that appealing, though I'm considering trying their hamburger buns because those do look pretty nice. Some of the recipes don't use a blend and just call for individual ingredients like corn flour or buckwheat. And some recipes are soups or salads or cocktails that don't require flour at all, so this is kind of a mixed bag. The recipes have nutritional info and icons indicating if they're free of certain allergens, but there are only photos for about half the recipes, and there isn't always storage advice. Measurements are by volume, and the index is useful.

I'll be the first to admit that there are definitely benefits to going gluten-free. I have witnessed lives being changed by simply modifying their diet in regard to this. In truth, I have desired to transition to a gluten-free diet, but the one thing that has held me back from fully converting has been taste. Yes, I know, it sounds ridiculous, but I am a FIRM believer in food and flavor - good flavor - going together. Yes, I know, it sounds ridiculous, but I am a FIRM believer in food and flavor - good flavor - going together. I bring up this point because, the gluten-free foods that I have tasted were rather uninspired and not too visually appealing. But this book made me wonder. I loved this book! The author made the Delight Gluten-Free Cookbook simple and diverse in regard to the recipes. She packed it with sensational pictures, nutritional information and a breakdown of meal prep in terms of time guides, quantity, and allergens/substitution info. This book will definitely be on my got-to-have-it wish list for the holidays!!! I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. On top of having delicious looking recipes, the photographs are really good, and recipes are well written. It has a section in the front that gives substitutes if you are sensitive to other ingredients. It also has a section in the front that gives names of products and brands that are gluten free to make shopping easier. I won this book through a Goodreads giveaway. While I haven't yet used any of the recipes, there are so many that look good! It spans categories from appetizers to bread to main courses to desserts and even cocktails. In addition to plenty of delicious recipes with pictures, there is also a detailed section at the beginning about what gluten free is and how to cook for it. It even describes cross contamination and how to prevent it. While gluten free pros will know this information, it's great fo I won this book through a Goodreads giveaway. I am truly in love with this book. Being gluten free for almost 4 years now, I find it difficult to find great GF cookbooks that don't make this special way of cooking sound difficult. This book makes things seem easier, and I will keep it in my recipe collection for years to come.

This is going to make a great gift for a family member who is celiac and learning to cook her own meals. Easy to follow directions will be good for someone starting to cook.
