    I read and listened to Moby Dick while I was in an English class in college several years ago. I had not read it before that, although it is considered a classic. I rather enjoyed it at first. It was not what I was expecting. It was not only serious drama on a ship, although that does become a significant aspect. It was also fairly humorous and had other interesting features. However, it eventually stopped being interesting. Part of the reason may have been the segments excessively describing pa I read and listened to Moby Dick while I was in an English class in college several years ago. I had not read it before that, although it is considered a classic. I rather enjoyed it at first. It was not what I was expecting. It was not only serious drama on a ship, although that does become a significant aspect. It was also fairly humorous and had other interesting features. However, it eventually stopped being interesting. Part of the reason may have been the segments excessively describing parts of ships. While a little of this might have been good to help us understand the setting, too much detracts from the story and becomes boring.
