4.5 I've learned some important life lessons over the years since Shaw's death, the main one being: love is for fools and I will NEVER be a fool again. The second lesson: I will never understand the choice to take your own life. The saying "Suicide doesn't end pain, it just passes it on to others" is a lesson I've found to be true the hard way. Sigh.. I really don't know where to begin. Getting through all the emotions that this book magnified in me was one thing, but having to express those emotions and somehow make a review? Harder than I expected. In reading book 1 (which I loved from first to last word) I was very eager to delve into Levi and Braunwyn's story. I was jumping up and down like an idiot knowing that I will finally get to see their sides, their POV and how their relationship turns out. And then I open ON THE ROCKS. Holy shit. Excuse my french but I honestly don't think I've cried this fast in a long time just from reading the first couple of chapters. I knew it would be a sad one, I knew it from the moment the book landed on my kindle. I was even brave enough to read a couple of reviews.. That, all THAT? It never really prepared me for the tears, heartbreak and dare I say some sexy blushing moments too.. Braunwyn's story, her backstory more specifically, broke my heart. It wasn't because the man she loved committed suicide. No. I mean, that in itself is one of the saddest and toughest moments to endure. What truly broke me.. She was left alone with Emme - her sweet, funny and innocent little daughter. Every single moment that she shared with her and her grandma I had the biggest fucking grin on my face. Then, when she remember the letter that he wrote her, his goodbye, and how she felt afterwards? I LITERALLY FELT MY HEART CRACKING IN TWO. The reality is, I know he suffered with depression and mental illness his whole life, but I always thought I was his medicine, his lifeline, maybe I was his ENOUGH. I went from feeling like I was a positive to questioning whether I was his downfall.. I know pain. I've experienced it first hand, whether physical or mental, I know what pain feels like from the smallest to the worst possible.. I can't believe I'm writing this, I try to stay clear of sharing too much especially something that touches so close to my very own life and heart, but I just can't keep it in. I can't say that I'd know how I might feel or what it might feel like to endure pain when it comes to the way Braunwyn was affected by Shawn's death. But in this book, you literally feel the emotions right down to your bones! Gillian Jones wrote Braunwyn's emotions in an unmistakably soulful and dark and heart-beating-faster-by-the-second kind of way. It's so easy to read her writing yet there is so much more behind it. Does that make sense? I mean, reading how Braunwyn felt was like freely shouting you're okay with breaking your heart over and over again, or that you don't mind having a soaked shirt full of unstoppable tears. It's just that EASY to fall in love with the writing.. It can easily be said that love for Braunwyn will be ever so hard to trust in finding ever again. How can it not? The man you loved and was planning in spending the rest of your life with, the one who helped you create this gorgeous little bundle of joy - commits suicide. That right there is not only something you never want to consider to be a true story, but it's definitely (in my POV at least) something that in the fictional world is a dangerous plot twist to venture into.. How do you love again when what you once thought was true love, killed itself? How do you clear away all the darkness from your heart when it penetrated so deep? and How the hell do you let your self become normal again when that too was taken away from you the moment HE took his last breath? How can you tell your little daughter her father killed himself because among many reasons, his mind was simply too far gone to ever be able to see light at the end of the tunnel? So many questions and yet not enough answers to barely be justifiable enough for one let alone all.. Braunwyn was SUCH A STRONG CHARACTER. I loved her from the very first moment that she mentioned how she felt about love, and why she felt the way she did. I also absolutely adored the mother that she has become towards Emme. I mean, how can such cuteness, such a bundle of joy bring a breath of fresh air into an otherwise very dark, depressing and soul wrenching story? Don't get me wrong, I practically LIVE on DARK STORIES. That's what makes me happy (that definitely makes more sense in my messed up mind). So to get a few grins from chapter to chapter definitely added to my adoration of this book and the author herself. Now. . . Don't even get me started on Levi. Fucking hell. If he isn't the basic example of an undoubtedly drool worhty alpha male with a deep softer side, I don't know what the hell else could be. He is by far a book boyfriend that I KNOW you girls would LOVE TO DEATH. Ok. Maybe that's a lie. I mean, you will love him, fall head over heels for his spicy attitude and blush inducing growls, but I don't think I'm ready to share him just yet.. Umm. Maybe- NOPE. Not ready at all.. ;) ..he almost growls and I sweat he must be able to hear my heart beat faster. This man is bulldozing his way in and I don't know how much longer my retaining walls are going to hold. Braunwyn huny? If a guy like Levi EVER made a pit-stop into my life, I sure as hell would think the same. Any walls, will eventually find their way permanently taking the horizontal position as would Levi and.. yeah.. mind off to the gutter.. I don't know how I went from crying my heart out to slowly wiping away the tears over a slowly forming smile.. I have no clue how Gillian Jones did it, but when Levi walked into Braunwyn's life, the whole story turned from soulfully touching to ADDICTIVE. I couldn't get enough. I wanted to know why Levi liked her so much. I wanted to see how Braunwyn will in turn react. I really wanted to see how the walls surrounding her heart will eventually be teared down.. I mean, would they? I also REALLY fucking wanted to know what was behind Levi's mind heart and soul. I wanted to know his backstory and make mental notes in how that would in turn affect Braunwyn and Emmerson. How would he bring light into her life?? You're my friend, and now I need you to be more. I need you to be mine. You said that day at your house you 'felt bad keeping me', but fuck, Braun, I WANT you to keep me, cause damn baby, I wanna keep you - and Emmerson too - so much. And dammit if those aren't the words that I officially want my future "THE ONE" guy to say.. Sigh. If only fiction was reality when it came to guys.. When he met Emme? Oh sweet Jesus of all things not human. I mean seriously?? I was nervelessly anticipating the moment that he would meet her daughter.. and when it happened? Let's just say that I don't think I could have fucking loved Levi any more than I did at that very moment.. Levi was a sweetheart with a very clear bad-ass edginess to him. He wasn't clean cut. He wasn't perfect, not that any of us are, but from the very beginning, when their relationship started growing and growing, a light-bulb switched. Levi was perfect for Braunwyn. He was also perfect for Emme. And what was even better? Braunwyn was perfect for him too, and so was little Emme. BUT. Wait till you see what happens towards the end.. You know when you read a romance and at the very point that the guy declares she is his and she in turn proclaims that she is in love with him? And not long after that we get a little bit of conflict, usually some form of deceit or jealousy? Yeah, that? That never really happens the way you expect it to in this one. Nope. Not even close.. STRONG. DARK. HEARTBREAKING on a whole new level. SOULFUL. SEXY. SAD. FUNNY. ADDICTIVE. My small part that I personally felt wasn't adding more to the story, there were a couple of times that cliche moments were just a little too much. It just didn't seem like it was needed, or maybe that it could have been said in a different way, because it took away from that connection that was so strongly created between the reader and characters. That though, only happened a couple of times towards the middle and a little farther, but again, Gillian Jones has a gift with writing that makes it so easy to fall into the characters emotions. So, aside from that, the story just continued to both surprise me and make me bring out a new box of tissues at the same time.. I'm trying to figure out how to properly articulate the wild thoughts and feelings raging war in my head. THANK YOU so damn much Gillian Jones for creating ON THE ROCKS. As much as I would love to hate you for having a fictional story break my heart over and over again, I can't blame you for being able to touch so many emotions with mere words. That in itself is definitely a rare thing. I adored Levi and Braunwyn story from the very beginning till that very last tears that touched my cheek. Yes it does have very dark topics, and emotions that many would steer clear of. And yes it will break your heart. But you know what sometimes, pain like that from reading ON THE ROCKS is just simple SO WORTH IT. And from one of my favorite songs when writing darker than usual scenes "It's better to feel pain than nothing at all.." Interpret that ANY way that you want, but just know that you might want to one click away ON THE ROCKS if you want to find out how much their story will effect you? After you flipped to the very last page and dried away your tears, come back here and we'll discuss.. Thank you again Gillian Jones!! Now. Onto the next heartbreaking book... <3

It's one hundred percent a standalone but you should read Levi's brother Ryker's story in book one just to meet Kat and Ryker. I loved My Minds Eye but On The Rocks? wow. It's just completely worlds apart, seriously amazing! "He is my salvation... My restoration." Braunwynn was left devastated and broken when she found her boyfriend after he committed suicide. Her world turned upside down. Four years later she is still picking the pieces up and trying her hardest to live again. Levi Eddison loves his job. His pub is his girl, his baby, he's married to his work and he's fine with that. He has no need for other complications. What he does need though is new staff. Neither one is expecting the other. It's not going to be simple or easy but both need to figure out if they're going to take the risk. Braunwyn, Oh, God. This girl. This absolutely brave, girl! It just feels like she's been fighting all her life. Fighting to be brave when her family and everyone else turned their back on her. And then the person she loved and fought for the most left her behind. My heart just shattered because now it's up to her to fight for herself and their unborn child. Luckily four years later she has her Grams and her best friend London who are amazing people. I am totally in love with Grams! I laughed out loud so many times at the things she said! Braun's heart is still suffering with the grief of losing and also of living but when she meets Levi and realizes she's feeling something again she tries, it's a journey but once again she proves just how strong she is. I admire her so much and I seriously have no doubt every single person that reads this will admire her too! Levi, And another Eddison brother has made me fall hard. *sigh* Oh dammit Levi you just had to be perfect didn't you?!From book one I actually wasn't sure on Levi's character but I completely fell for him in this book! I was so glad to see more of Ryker but so much more glad to see their relationship as brothers, we get to see some of it in book one but I loved getting to see them together in this one!! Levi was just perfect for Braun, seriously. Every time I just think of him I just want to sigh loudly because he became protective of her, he was her friend, he was so kind and caring of her journey and situation it amazed me and well he's so damn hot! Woah. I just wanted to cry at how loving he was because Braun has been saving herself all this time and she deserved to be saved by someone who will love her and her child and we get that from Levi a million times over. "You ready, baby? I am going to fucking devour you. Top-shelf, Braunwyn. You are top-motherfuckin'-shelf." First of all the three of these together, Levi, Braun and Emme? seriously heart melting. That little girl stole my heart and seeing her with Levi and their relationship grow. gahhh! So. Much. Love. Levi and Braun were so cute, there was always that more than friends vibe between them and they really didn't pretend otherwise that much but seeing them grow that friendship, the scene where their just sitting in the diner together and enjoying each others company is one of my favorite. They are just simply two people who are made for eachother and really deserve happiness and getting to witness that journey, that growth, that love is beautiful. "I know without a doubt that Levi is my yestermorrow. And one day soon, I plan on telling him so." I'm in awe of Gillian Jones. Honestly I am because let's be honest no one dares talk about mental health or suicide even when being affected by it. It's first a tragedy then a statistic. But what about the aftermath? What about the people directly affected by them statistics? This is a journey. This is a beautiful story. It's one of heart ache, love, pain and hope. And it's all done amazingly and with care. Amongst it all there's friendship, family, laughs and life. The side characters are all so intriguing and lovable too! I've already fallen in love with Luke. So, yes, he's mine. lol! This book is life. That's what it is, this is so real and raw and I'm glad Gillian told it because by writing one book she is putting so many peoples story out there and giving hope to so many people too.

For me this was a five + stars read How do you put into words how much you love a book that has had such a profound effect on not only your heart but also your soul. With great difficulty especially when you have experienced certain things first hand that are mentioned in this story. So because of that I want to thank Gillian for writing such a beautiful story that highlighted so many serious issues with regards of mental health and suicide and the effects it has on so many people's lives. Sometimes it's not just the person who suffers with mental health that it effects but also family and friends closest to them. Braunwyn story doesn't start off all heart and flowers it's actually gut wrenching so be prepared for the tears. But as you get more into her story you will find your self admiring the strength she shows and smiling laughing and loving how things progress for her. Braunwyn is a single mother who lives for her daughter. She has a select few she allows to know what has happened in her life and why she is so guarded. She doesn't date or believe she will ever find love again. Levi is the owner of pub fiction. He spends most of his time working so he doesn't have time for a relationship or want one. He enjoys his life as it is with out complications But sometimes life throws you a curve ball and the one thing you thought you didn't need or would have is just around the corner waiting for you to grab it. This book will take you on one hell of a emotional roller coaster ride but it will be one of those rides that I'm sure a lot of people have already been on at some stage in their lives. This is a must read book and For me personally this book has been my favourite read of 2015. But you don't have to take my word on it but I'm sure once you one click and read it for yourself you'll understand why I say it's a must read and will have no problem recommending it to everyone.

Favorite Quotes: “Trust me, Levi is the stuff that that female population most definitely memorizes and stores up in their minds and plays, on repeat, in their version of the ‘spank bank’ (what London and I refer to as the ‘Jill Till’) after taking in the sight of him. I need you to be my past, my present, and my future.” My Review: I adored this story and this couple. I frequently crave a sweet and sexy romance where the characters are not mired in constant angst and conflict with each other, but rather are supportive and pulling together as a united force instead. The plot line was interesting and fresh, and the characters were likable, compassionate, and tender with each other. Despite the occasional heaviness, and underlying tragedy and aftermath resulting from suicide and the years of ensuing grief, the writing was actually humorous, fun, crisp, and clever. I enjoyed their wordplay, banter, and alliteration. And any heroine who enjoys Moscato has an instant in with me. Gillian Jones is a new favorite and is definitely one to watch.

Levi and Brauwyn is absolutely perfect for each other. And Emme is adorable. I thought Ryker and Kat from My Mind's Eye was my favorite couple, but Levi and Brauwyn tops that. I loved that Levi helped Brauwyn with stuff from her passed. He was so caring, protective, and just an over all amazing guy. The relationship he had with Emme was so sweet. From the first scene when he met her was loving and adorable. OMG! Brauwyn's Grandmother is the coolest. I want to be just like her when I grow up. On The Rocks Gillian Jones 5 stars Wow … you want your heart to explode with shooting stars and fireworks you need to click this book up. First of all where is this man … where can I order one because I have never seen one like this anywhere in FL. I will also tell you that if you have a trigger over suicide, please do not click. I will be honest .. I thought I was getting ready to skim over another spoiled girl meets bad boy blah blah blah story …. I was soooooooo wrong. I will be honest .. I thought I was getting ready to skim over another spoiled girl meets bad boy blah blah blah story …. I was soooooooo wrong. This is the second book in the Pub Fiction series. I haven’t read the other book and sometimes that bothers me. However I was so entranced by Levi that I really didn’t care about anything else. Speaking of Levi Eddison, he is the owner of Pub Fiction. Its his baby. His entire life is wrapped up in the making his business great. Women are there for the taking but he isn’t interested in anything long term. Running Pub Fiction doesn’t allow him to cater to the neediness of a woman nor does he have any desire to give up his time for something as such. Braunwyn Daniels is a single mom. She has no one to count on and has learned how to deal with that. Her Grams and her best friend London are the only two people besides her child that she cares to make happy. Her struggles have been more than any woman should have to endure and after four years of doing her best she is starting to break. Braun has convinced herself that she needs to start trying to somewhat interact with adults and be normal again. She believes getting a part time job might be a good idea. Pulling her shoulders back and putting on a brave face, she heads to Pub Fiction. This is a love love love story times a million. Gillian not only gives us a intricate story between Braun and Levi but also between “Scooby” or Emme (Braun’s daughter) and Levi. This book is a stunner; a keeper. You will save this one on your Kindle and read it again when you need it; when your heart needs it. Do not pass up giving the playlist that is included a listen. Dang! I will definitely be heading on over to click up the first book in this series; My Mind’s Eye. Gillian is an amazing story teller. I also applaud her ability to write in a very serious yet taboo topic in our society. Suicide is something people don’t want to talk about when the issue needs to be shouted to the rooftops letting those know who are suffering we are here for them with no judgment. Please if you do click this one up also do not skip over the authors note at the end. There is some tremendous information there. You never know when you might find yourself needing to know the information she has provided. Keep the books coming Gillian because I will be waiting. Thank you for the ARC. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed on behalf of A is for Alpha B is for Books. Well this book smacked me straight in the chest with the biggest feels ever!! This is book 2 in the Pub Fiction series. This is Levi's story. Levi is the owner of Pub Fiction. He has made it pretty much his whole life. She's his girl, his everything. Nothing else has ever really mattered to Levi he runs his pub he takes the girls on offer and never gives anything more to anyone. Braun I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed on behalf of A is for Alpha B is for Books. Nothing else has ever really mattered to Levi he runs his pub he takes the girls on offer and never gives anything more to anyone. Braunwyn is a struggling single mom who's been abandoned by pretty much everyone but her grams and her best friend London. When we first meet Braun she's pretty much broken, for four years it's just been her and her daughter. She's decided she needs a part time job and to start interacting with humans again. She goes for a job at Pub Fiction even though she has no experience and meets Levi. Quite simply he changes her world!!! OMG i so fell in love with Levi! Braun was still grieving and messed up and Levi knew he had to take things slow with her. He was so patient!! first becoming friends with her and then so so so much more!!. Then he developed the same thing with his little Scooby (Braunwyn's daughter) He not only fell in love with Braun but little Scooby too!! it was sooo adorable to see their relationship develop. I think this says a lot about this book and why i loved it so much, you not only see one love story but two!! Seriously you'll love Levi!! Braun is gonna be a fave book girl of mine for a long time to come. She could see how she was and was so determined to change. She takes a risk with Levi and i loved that about her. She'd think things through and then go for it! She'd be scared but do it anyway because she truly wanted out of the grief not just for her but her daughter too. There is a very serious theme in this story of suicide but it's handled really really well. It's not heavy and downbeat, but the message is loud and clear in there. It's not a story of a victim but a story of survival after suicide and to have hope. This is the type of story you will read again and again because through everything it will fill your heart up to full. It will make you smile. It will make you swoon. It will make you fan your face, because Jesus is there some very very very hot scenes!!! I'll say B.O.B and when you come to that scene be prepared to hose yourself down!! LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!!! I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. It can be read as a standalone but i also loved book 1 My Minds Eye so i would recommend you read that too!! 5 Heart Warming emotional hope filled stars!!!

One hit like that and you’re down on the rocks forever. With no way to recover and continue with your life. With questions like thorns in your soul. And no answers for you to find. Ever. There is no life left to live. What is left is just exterior. There is no reason to fight anymore. Why bother? After all its seems much easier to give up. Right? It's just the beginning of the journey and I already am searching deep into my soul with those thoughts in my mind. What I would do in Brauns place? Would I give up? Or would I fight with my last breath? I have no doubt, that Braunwyn had the same thoughts just after what she's been through after Shawn. And actually to see her struggle to live those five years after him abandoning her. Yes, I use that word 'abandon'. I know you would think it's not fare to think like that. After all Shawn had a mental illness. But I couldn’t help myself. I never was or meet someone who has mental problems. Or maybe I just didn’t pay attention enough. But eitherway, I couldn't completely ever understand what those people gone through in their minds. And I will always have double thoughts about them. Feelings like abandon, betrayal but also sadness and pain. So, here I'm angry and also pained for Shawn. And I don't know which emotion is stronger. I feel sad that such a young person could give up on beautiful gift God gave us. Life. I'm pissed at him. Because I become all tearful when Braunwyn takes out his letter. It breaks my heart over and over again. It hurts my heart everytime when she took a step forward to reenter to live again and then something would trigger her memory of Shawn and she fall back three steps. So, those double feelings fallow me through the story. Also I will catch myself thinking if she didn’t had a little miracle in her life, would she had followed Shaun? Would she found the strength go through struggle each day without him? Or would she had given up? So, maybe,... Actually there is no maybe. We should be thankful that Shawn left a little miracle of his own. Emmerson. This little star helped so much. Okay. Maybe I should stop talking about so sorrowful fact in the life. Because one I'm becoming all teary-eyed. And two, yes there is those moment and we unfortunately had to live through them, but we should pay more attention to the gifts life are giving us. Like here one of those gifts was Levi. That's what I loved here the most. Levi. Yeah, at the beginning he was a little confused and fought his feelings. But that's okay. Because he never was serious about a girl. So, what he felt for Braun was new and scary. He needed some time to accept it. And when he did, well be ready for possessive Levi. I think he even surprised himself with that. When he found out about Braunwyn’s baby girl... I had butterflies in my stomach because of how sweet he was. It was just priceless. And the way he unconsciously started to help Braun to heal her wounds.... I say unconsciously because he didn't know at the time her torment. And he still was able to help her to step closer into the world of happiness and future. And acceptance. And becoming Brauns yestermorrow. So, yeah. Levi was my favorite gift in this story. And the ending was sweet and marvelous. The story had begun with my tears of sorrow. And ends with my tears of happiness. After finished reading, I'm feeling like I'm part of the Braunwyn and Levi journey. So, I can't wait for you to meet this wondrous couple.

I read and loved My Mind's Eye, the first book in this wonderful series and thought there could be no way to top the story in that book, I was mistaken. Gillian has taken a sensitive subject matter and written it so beautifully. Quickly having become one of my go to authors this is a story you must experience. There are no words as to how great a story this book really is. I now wait for what is next to come.

It was h-o-t...it was dirty...it was messy...but it was always beautiful. In fact, if I had to pick one word to sum up the entire story, that would be it: beautiful.

How when the time was right he would send her Knight to her. Now in her last year of college she is finally ready to start the moving on process. She wants to be a social worker and needs to have some social experience to do that. The last 4 years she has been focused on school and her daughter. She applies for a job at Pub Fiction with absolutely no work experience and granted an interview. Levi owns Pub Fiction; she is his lady, baby, and his whole world basically. Levi has no desire to be in a relationship right now. He enjoys the perks of owning a bar; there are always willing women around and he explains that it is a not strings attached thing he wants. Then everything changes the day he meets Braun; he was expecting a guy based on the resume but he isn’t disappointed. There is just something about her that makes him want to get to know her more. He gives her a job and hopes this will help him get to know her more. Braun is attracted to Levi is scared of the way he makes her feel. Part of her wants to move forward and another part feels guilty because of her ex Shawn. Then when Levi starts letting her know he would like them to be something even if starts out as friends her emotions are all over the place. Levi is willing to be friends and take it at Braun’s pace. He will take any time he can get with her in any way he can. Then he learns that she has a daughter and finds that nothing really changes about the way he feels and that in fact he immediately starts to feel strongly for her daughter Emme. Will Braun take a chance on Levi? Will Levi still want her when he learns how broken she is? I can’t say enough about this book and how great it is. Braun is an amazingly women. She has been through so much most of it happened all around the same time. She is a wonderful mother and women. Her grandmother and friends are great as well. Levi is so great. He seems to know just what to say and do every time Braun gets nervous or her past starts to creep into their present. He knows that there are things she isn’t telling her but he doesn’t pressure her to share them. He knows she is worth the wait. All the characters in the book/series are great and I can’t wait to read more about them. I haven’t read the first book in this series however it is now on my tbr list. This the first book by Gillian that I have read but I definitely be reading more by her in the future. This book is a must read. I was given this book in return for an honest review.

This is my first book by this author but I am definitely going to go back and read Ryker and Kat's story and keep my eye out for what else she has going on. I really enjoyed this story. Having said that I do love useless drama I am a sucker for torture !! BUT again it was refreshing to connect to Levi and Braun for real reasons and having the pain and heartache be for much different reasons. They have an electrifying chemistry and that little Emmerson is the sweetest most amazing book kiddo ever !! I wove her little voice and the way she wraps Levi and her innocent honesty. Well done with the characters. Braun never had things easy. A very strict family that forced rules and beliefs on her at a young age. Of course she finds the love of her life in high school and neither family approved. On top of that stress she becomes pregnant and despite her and Shawn attempting to be independent adults they have no love or support from their families. If that was the end of their struggles our story would be different but then Braun loses Shawn and is left suffering on her own at 18 and pregnant. Grams to the rescue and thankfully this allows for Braun to move away and attempt to make a great life for her and her baby. 4 years later life is flowing smoothly despite the grief. Braun is job hunting and taking college classes, she has her daughter , her Grams and her bestie London. She never really needed or expected to feel the connection she felt immediately when Levi interviewed her for a job. Levi is a workaholic , running his bar Pub Fiction to perfection and of course taking advantage of the endless supply of chicks. I mean he is super hot and successful in his business. He has great friends and an amazing family but he never cared to settle down. All that changes the second he spots Braun , who he assumed was a man , in his office for an interview !! It was kind of funny yet also sexually frustrating with these two being so close yet just friends. Their little Trump game blew up in their faces quickly and they honestly had some smooth sailing. Braun was hiding a bit of her past , the biggest bit she had yet Levi was patient to wait her out. There were a couple twists and some really touching moments but again this was an easy read and very enjoyable plus not to mention HOT !!

The glue that holds her together is her sweet daughter Emme, her grandmother, and her hilarous best friend London. She doesn't date. She doesn't let others in. She is simply trying to finish college and make a better, more independent life for her daughter. She has scars from her past that she keeps locked away. But when she meets Levi, he makes her feel excited and scared all at the same time. Enter Levi. When he meets Braun, he is fascinated by her. He wants to get to know her, even if he is super conflicted about his feelings. But he knows Braun is holding herself back. As he gets to know her, he falls fast and hard. And when he meets the absolutely adorable Emme, it is a done deal for him. But when Braun reveals her secrets from the past, can he handle them and continue to break down her walls? Will he be able to convince Braun that he needs her as much as she needs him? I highly recommend this book. Review Post---> http://reneeentress.blogspot.com/2015...

Book 2 in the Pub Fiction series is Levi's story. Levi is Ryker's brother and owner of Pub Fiction. With the club he doesn't have time to commit to a relationship, he wants one eventually, when the right woman comes along but now is just not the time. Braunwyn aka Braun is young single mom. In her last year of college trying to make ends meet and finish school to become a social worker. Problem is she's not very social. Applying for a job at Pub Fiction will kill two birds with one stone; help with tuition and get her socialized. Levi is expecting a guy for his first interview, he figures Braun will fill his busboy slot. Until he walks in and sees Braun is anything but male. He won't deny he's attracted to her but she works for him so he needs to step back. Handing her off to Luke for training sucks. He's jealous, not sure why because he's not a one woman kind of man but he certainly wants her. One night he finds her waiting for a bus after work in her work uniform and he loses it, demanding she allow him to take her home. Thankfully Braunwyn's no pushover, giving as good as she gets until he calms and asks nicely. From there they decide they can be friends. Soon her little girl is just as attached to Levi as she is. As they spend time together they both grow close and share a strong attraction. They agree that they want each other but that now isn't the time, Levi knows Braun has been through something and he's willing to wait for her to tell him, and tells her so. But when her past comes out will it be something Levi can handle or will he turn his back on them? Levi is all kinds of perfect. He's strong, sexy, patient, kind, protective and full on alpha. He's exactly what Braun needed in her life and didn't realize just how much she was missing until meeting him. And Braun's evolution from quiet and reserved to taking what she wants was enjoyable to experience. 5 stars and looking forward to book 3!!

This is a story about experiencing real love for the first time and letting walls down. Braun was pregnant when she walked into her bathroom to find her boyfriend Shawn dead at the hands of suicide. She has lived with guilt, unanswered questions, and a daughter without a father. With the help of her grams, best friend London, she decides to finish school, get a job and learn to social again. Braun lives wrapped up in her head, the final words that Shawn left for her, and making sure Emme is protected. Enter Levi. Levi is that hot tattoo guy who has everything he could ever want then he sees Braun sitting in his office for a job interview. Levi has never taken the time to be himself and to always be at Pub Fiction. Braun makes Levi want to experience life more, but there is something different about her. Levi decides to start out as friends and they come up with the "Trump Pact" that one can use when they want to take their friendship to the next step which is boyfriend/girlfriend. It's nice to see a love formed based on friendship first. Despite their sexual attraction, Levi doesn't push the issue with them. "You really do heal me, Levi. You make me happy." These words right here made me cry. I have been one of these people who are part of the statistics with attempting suicide. This book is such a slap in the face for me. When I was at my lowest, I never thought what my family would have gone through by choice to end things because I couldn't go on. I definitely need to contact my family to tell them sorry that I never meant to hurt them. Gillian Jones is a writer who helps bring to light a subject that affects millions but also letting us see how someone left behind is left to question everything. I received this book for an honest review.

Review for On The Rocks ( Pub Fiction #2) I was expecting this book for months, and when I finally had it in my hands I couldn't wait to read it. This book theme it's close to my heart, it's easy now to say that once upon a time lots of years back I was a seventeen year old girl who just lost her mom to cancer and I found myself desperate, alone and sad, and I thought to commit suicide, but thank God I had and amazing friend who helped me to stay strong, to fight depression, she is still my best h Review for On The Rocks ( Pub Fiction #2) I was expecting this book for months, and when I finally had it in my hands I couldn't wait to read it. This book theme it's close to my heart, it's easy now to say that once upon a time lots of years back I was a seventeen year old girl who just lost her mom to cancer and I found myself desperate, alone and sad, and I thought to commit suicide, but thank God I had and amazing friend who helped me to stay strong, to fight depression, she is still my best human 19 years after I met her. So I can relate to Shawn and what he was feeling, he didn't want to hurt Braun and Emme, he just couldn't keep fighting the dark. Those first pages were the most difficult to read, but after the tears have dried I couldn't put the book down. I loved Braun's humans so much!!! They're amazing people, Grams is a diamond , she is like a super woman, taking care of everyone. London it's funny, and Lewis is a sweetheart. Emme is an awesome child and I loved her so much. And now Braun and Levi.... Braun is an amazing character, a strong girl who has to sufer something horrible while pregnat at 18, but she kept going forward for her unborn baby, she fought avery single day to smile again, and when she finally let the guilt behind she found that she could be happy again, she could love again, and that someone could love her again with such force like Levi. Levi is so so so sweet, he is funny, he is protective, he really cares not just for Braun but for Emme too. He is good looking but his heart is in the perfect place to accept Braun and her past, and to wish a future together. I loved the pact, it was fresh and funny. All the people included in this book from book 1 was sweet, there wasn't any crazy ex, or something like that. The entire book has no waste. So please go and pick up your copy and help a great cause. Love you Gill, and thanks for this great book so full of feelings.

What a wonderful book about moving on with your life after a serious tragedy. I loved reading about Braunwyn's journey to finding happiness again. We get to see her as she gets to let someone in and learn to trust in them and their love for them. Braunwyn loses someone really important when she was like 18 or 19 and has been closed off since. She only trusts in her small circle of people and has become very socially awkward around new people. She needs to find a job to gain experience for when she graduates college. The day of her interview she meets a sexy as sin man, who in turn becomes her boss and eventually one of her best friends. She wants more from him but she feels scared and she is riddled with guilt. Will she be able to move from the past and find happiness? Will guilt hold her back from finding her knight? Levi has always thought that he was happy with the way his life was going. He doesn't need a lady in his life because he has one in his bar. Pub Fiction is his lady and he doesn't need more besides the one night stands he partakes in. That is until he interviews Braunwyn. One look at her and he knows that she is to be his. The trouble is convincing her of that. He must be patient with her and show her that he can be trusted with not only her heart but with something even more precious to her. Will Levi be able to be just friends until she's ready for more? Will he be able to break down the walls she has built? Will he stick around when he learns all her secrets? This was such a great read and I think that you will truly enjoy it. It does contain talk of suicide so if that is a trigger this may be for you. Gillian has done a great job of writing about a sensitive topic and the ways of coping through a traumatic event.

*****5 Stars***** What a book, On the Rocks was so well written I didn’t want to put it down. I finished this book and need to get this all out. The gorgeous strong willed, Braunwyn was very well written, her strength to pull through and move on at such a young age showed determination and true courage . Her inner beauty captures you from page one. Braun becomes a single mum at such a young age to such tragic circumstances, but knows that life must go on, she has the determination and will to go on and make the best life she can for her and her child. With the support of her best friend and Gran she applies for a part time job at a Pub. A job that will open up a whole new world to her. Levi, Holy Hotness in all hell, what a Boss Man, this man was a dream and a true knight. His love and overall nature was a true testament to men out there. From the moment he laid eyes on Braun and his misconception of her being a him, there instant connection was nicely done. Being a single mother I loved the way that Braun was protective to keep this part of her live separate, not out of embarrassment but to protect her child. But when these two let their relationship move from just a friendship to more, it created one beautiful life of one little family. Gillian has delivered us one hell of a story that seriously left me needing more. I did not want this to end. REVIEWED FOR HASHTAGMINXES

Review of On The Rocks (Pub Fiction #2) by Gillian Jones Review done for Hooked on Books 5 out of 5 stars I didn’t think Gillian Jones could come up with another sexy, alpha male who was as awesome as Ryker, but she certainly did with his brother Levi. Levi is the definition of a player: sexy, smart, and not wanting a relationship. Casual sex is all he wants and the only girl for him is his bar. However, when Braunwyn is waiting for a job interview in his office, something in him sparks to life. He has never really been interested in knowing too much about a woman before, but Braunwyn seems completely different from all the women he has met. There is something about her that brings out his protective side. Braunwyn has had to suffer through more tragedy in her life than most people twice her age. Even with all the challenges life throws at her, she pushes through. She has more than just herself to think about. Needing any type of job, she applies at Pub Fiction. Little did she know that she was going to meet her knight in shining armor there. Braunwyn’s past is a major hurdle for her to overcome. She is scared to death of getting her heart ripped apart again. Levi is going to do whatever he can to prove his love and worth to her. He loves everything about her, including Emme! Braunwyn and Levi are a perfect match for each other. Levi was sweet, sexy, and such a dirty talker! I think I am in love with him as well. Braunwyn is such a strong, beautiful, courageous woman. She certainly deserved to get her happily ever after. I just loved this series! I absolutely recommend it to read!
