This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I liked this book a lot. The hero was a widower whose wife had died from cancer two years earlier and he had never wanted anyone else. He swore to her when she was dying that he would never love anyone else. I just hate stories with dead exes and people moving on. I know it is a fact of life but his deceased wife Fleur was in a lot of their conversations and his thoughts. He promised her he would never love a woman again, physically or emotionally. She laughed at him and told him to be happy but I liked this book a lot. He promised her he would never love a woman again, physically or emotionally. She laughed at him and told him to be happy but it was hard for me to read about it. I know I am a freak but I just keep thinking about his thoughts and at first he felt like he was cheating on his wife but he wasn't. I know that in the logical part of my mind and the heroine was awesome. I loved her. Her little boy Ryan was so cute too. The whole story was sweet. No cheating, no ow drama, no sleeping around, nothing. both of them had been celibate for at least two years. I think she was three years and it was the Father of her son. He was a deadbeat dad and left her. They were never married and he wanted nothing to do with the boy. So it was perfect really. These three guys in the series are great. I didn't like the third story at all but in the end, they were all good guys and this centered around a hospital. Two were doctors and the third brother wrote children's books about a hospital ward and they really were great guys. But at the end of each story, I felt a little let down. I don't even know why. Especially when the guys really loved the heroines very much. Maybe it's just my after Christmas blues. I have to go ponder about this. I read them out of order so maybe that is it. Or maybe it's just too good to be true. But for all of you this one if safe, no cheating and the only OW drama involves the poor dead wife. I got in in KU so it was free to me and I have read this author before, some I liked, some I hated, and I will read her again. I have finished the series and overall, it is a good one. I loved the ending at the end of the third book with all three couples proposing at the same time basically. Brock and Charlie were good men. Matt is still a negative for me for some reason, but I still give the series an overall three stars. There is just something missing for me. And I don't even know what it is. LOL.

Consultant pediatrician Brock King lost his wife to cancer two years ago. He is the eldest of the three King brothers at age thirty-one and is sure that love is lost to him for the rest of his life. He vowed to his dying wife that he would never love again but that isn't what she wanted. He has mourned her death for two very long years and he feels he may finally be ready to get out and date again. Because of their research and new inventions for children with lung diseases, like asthma and CF, the brothers began a website for the parents of afflicted children. He has spoken to an Erin Bloom who is a single mom of a two year old with asthma for the past year. After a lot of chatting he decides he wants to meet her face to face. Erin Bloom is a single mom who struggles to put food on the table. She lives in a very tiny house in a not-so-good neighborhood and has a very negative mother. She has not made wise choices in men and the last one left her when she told him of the pregnancy, never to be seen again. Since her son's illness keeps her from working full-time she has little income and no help from her ex. When she is upset or has questions she turns to Brock when he is online at the 'Three Wise Men' forum. This is a tender and precious love story between man, woman, and child. I guarantee you'll love this book and it will deeply touch your heart. I highly recommend this and it is great for the Christmas season.

DNF at 37% I just couldn’t power through the book. Not only do the characters lack any chemistry, but they speak so damn formally to each other. Both characters speak to each other like they are embarrassed and like they are in the drawing room of Downton Abbey when they are really in present day New Zealand. At one point, when Erin arrives at the ritzy hotel that Brock booked for them, she’s bowled over by the fact that he got them two luxury suits and wonders if everything will be gold plated and if there will be slaves waving fanning leaves..... Yes, you read right. SLAVES! We are in present day fucking New Zealand so I don’t understand why that thought even crosses her mind. Everything these characters do or say just doesn’t make sense at all.

I only made it through the first book and decided not to continue with the trilogy. Anytime there is a New Zealand setting is a plus for me, but I had too many issues with the hero and the first book ended very abruptly, with no epilogue. It is online that he meets young single mum Erin, whose son suffers from serious asthma. Brock’s character just didn’t gel with me. He is an exceptionally skilled paediatrician but he wonders about the mystery of parenthood. We learn through the book that he first fell in love with Erin on line. The fact that he was offering her medical advice at the time seems to hold no ethical problems for him. His idea of asking Erin on a first date is to offer to book a hotel room for her (not to sleep with her of course) but so she can ‘rest’ after her son Ryan has been released from hospital. (Cue discussions about whether Brock expects to be ‘rewarded’ for his financial outlay.) He is a doctor, but as soon as her learns that Erin is on the pill, he is fine not using a condom. To me Brock came across as controlling- after knowing her in person for a few days he tells Erin’s mother that he is definitely going to marry Erin- but Erin will need ‘time’ to come around to the idea so until then it’s to be kept a secret. He can’t really understand why Erin has trouble coming to terms with their differences in financial status. On the plus side? Erin is a likeable heroine and the sex scenes are well done.

I’ve read several books by Serenity Woods in her Treats series and enjoyed those, but this is my favorite novel from her so far that I’ve read. Instead, it’s a very sweet story about Brock who has had a hard time recovering from the too-early death of his beloved wife from cancer. Erin is a poor woman whose boyfriend took off as soon as she got pregnant. Now she has an adorable, little boy about to turn three years old. Brock and his two brothers have made a fortune having cooperated to invent medical devices for children with pulmonary diseases. Brock has met Erin online at the website that he and his brothers created for parents to talk to each other and ask questions. Erin’s son has asthma. Brock and Erin have become friends as he’s helped her understand her son’s condition. She has no idea that she’s talking to a billionaire. When they finally meet, Brock falls for her and goes after with a determined push to win her heart. She has her own doubts wondering if his money is what is really attracting her and if he will ever grow to doubt that she loves him for who he is rather than what he can provided for her and her son. Bkrock is almost too good to be true. He’s a sexy doctor with a heart of gold who just wants to help children and he also happens to be a billionaire. (And seriously, isn’t any guy a millionaire any more? They always seem to be billionaires. Inflation has hit the romance novel.) Brock’s character is what made this story stand out among so many billionaire love stories. These were two kind-hearted, good people. They are working to find each other and their HEA. Sure, there are some sexy scenes, but the story is really about how a poor woman can grow comfortable with loving a good man who just happens to be monster rich. I enjoyed their story. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book of a new trilogy for this New Zealand author, and despite some serious themes it's a light, easy read. It's the unlikely love story of Brock (a billionaire pediatrician, naturally) and Erin (a low-income single mother) who meet through an online chat room and strike up a quick, steamy romance. It's the unlikely love story of Brock (a billionaire pediatrician, naturally) and Erin (a low-income single mother) who meet through an online chat room and strike up a quick, steamy romance. I emphasize the "quick" because their courtship lasts about a day before they decide they are each other's soulmate. This despite the backstory that Brock's wife died tragically from breast cancer two years prior, and the father of Erin's young son unceremoniously dumped her when she got pregnant, and refused to acknowledge his son. So they are both struggling with issues of trust, guilt and commitment, but those hesitations seem to go out the window pretty quickly once they get their groove on. I would have liked to see Brock process moving on from his wife's memory a little bit more in depth, since that seemed to be glossed over a little too easily. It's also clearly part of a series; while it does not have a cliffhanger, it doesn't quite wrap up the story completely. I get the sense we will get the full resolution of their story in the last book, so the trilogy will likely hang together better as a set than as individual stories. I'm actually more interested in the stories of Brock's brothers Charlie (a billionaire inventor) and Matt (a billionaire artist/writer), because as heroes go, Brock was kind and compassionate, but he wasn't all that much fun. I didn't love it but I liked it, and this was a quick, easy Christmas romance with some steam. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated and all opinions are my own.

Loved Brock and Erin I loved the personalities of both Brock and Erin. Ryan was so adorable too. Reading about the pain Brock had hone through losing his wife, I could see how he would be reluctant to steer dating again. Erin had been treated so badly by Jack who could blame her for being suspicious of anyone wanting her. The Christmas setting made the story even more romantic. I really loved this book. I can't wait to read about Charlie and Matt.

After a rocky start i ended up really liking this one but it would have been nice to read about her reaction to his present at the end of the book instead of it just stopping where it did. It might continue in the second book for all I know, maybe I will read that one next Christmas and find out. I also thought it started off quite weak but got stronger as the story progressed. It was a nice little romance filled Christmas story.

I'm a sucker for a romance involving a good guy who is willing to have a relationship with a woman with a child or children. This book was sweet, heartwarming, and sexy. Although children's health issues were involved, they didn't weigh the book down with sadness. It took a very optimistic, proactive view. I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Brock and his brothers maintain a charity called The Three Wise Men, they are devoted to children with asthma and other respiratory ailments. Brock is a consultant pediatrician, Charlie is a research scientist, he has created the child-size paraphernalia with attachments of Matt's characters to help ease their visits, and Matt is an author, he's responsible for the creation of the cute Ward Seven characters and writes the children's books about the journey with their illnesses. Erin's son has asthma and once again he's in the hospital. She has utilized the Charity's website for parents to chat and ask questions every since Ryan was diagnosed. There's also a private chat window for discussions with doctors. Brock is feeling low, it's the anniversary of his wife's death from breast cancer, he kept as busy as he could and now he's settling in with a drink and remembering. His brother's conference in with him and mention Erin's son is in the hospital again and she's been online, telling him he should check the site. They also confirm the hospital visits for the next day, which they do in costumes of the characters. Erin and Brock have been talking online for over a year, and those conversations have progressed into a friendship rather than just a consultation type of interaction. This time though he asks for her number and speaks to her instead of just the instant message. Then he formulates a plan, to be the one to visit the hospital where her son is. It's right after his rounds that Georgia has Erin meet with Brock in a conference room. He talks her into having coffee with him and makes his suggestion for her birthday weekend. Not one to stand still this one. Much thought is given to the offer, two separate rooms, dinner and time to herself with a handsome man for company. Brock's money and Erin's insecurities cause a few obstacles, Ryan is adorable and his interactions with Brock are priceless. I loved the way this relationship grows and the way the story encompasses both their families. The chemistry between these two is practically explosive, there's laughter and plenty of it plus a bit of family angst.

I was going to put myself on a forced Serenity Woods hiatus because I am burning through her books at an alarming rate and don't want to read them all too quickly, but after reading Casanova and the Billionaire Kings series, I wanted to finally get the backstories of the Three Wise Men (who are the parents of the main characters in the Billionaire Kings series). Erin is unsure whether things are moving too fast, and how their differing financial situations might affect any potential connection between them. The relationship between Brock and Erin was a teensy bit too insta-love for me, personally. SW books do usually take place over a shorter time period, but most of the couples in her other books already know eachother as friends, so the relationship doesn't feel quite so rushed. Despite that, I have still given this five stars because I enjoyed this so much! It was great getting to properly meet Brock and Erin after seeing them as an older couple in the Billionaire Kings series, and I'm sad that I waited so long to start this series. The chemistry and sexual scenes between them were amazing as always. I love a single parent story, the interactions between Brock and Ryan in particular were adorable, and I'm so excited that the next two books are also single parent books. Yay!

I liked the names of the cities, the scenery and the descriptions as well as the plot of the story. This book ends abruptly - the reader is left with an answer, but not with a complete story, if that makes sense. Not a bad book, but not my favorite.

Sweet story of a struggling, single mother who finds love with a wealthy man. Brock had mourned the loss of his wife, and had never met anyone who interested him. Until he met Erin. "It had been Erin who'd resurrected his dead heart, who'd shone bright enough to dispel the shadows he'd inhabited for so long. He'd wanted to be with her, to watch her laugh, to listen to her infectious giggle." Very well written with a nice balance between sweet romance and smoking hot sex.

A perfect gift indeed When Ryan ends up in the hospital after his second major asthma attack, his mom is worried and reaches out for support on the We Three Kings website. There she has talked with one of the King brothers who happens to specialize in breathing problems in children. He reaches out to her, to check on her son & her to make sure things are ok. Little do either one of them realize that this Christmas is going to going to be a little bit more special. Erin has a son who occasionally ends up in the hospital. Brock is a doctor who helps children. They meet through a chat support website. Brock’s wife passed away two years ago and Erin has been raising her son on her own all along. She doesn’t have much to speak of but he is a billionaire. This of course intimates her but he convinces her that it’s just money and he loves her for who she is. This was a nice story and I look forward to reading more from this author.

A romanticly sweet Christmas read! I absolutely loved this book! The characters are people I’d love to get to know. I loved the fact that everyone’s life was not roses, but in the end love is the right medicine! Despite wealth Brock seemed like a guy anyone would love to get to know. And then there is the adorable little boy! Just grab this one and read it! If I keep on going, I’ll give something important away! I can’t wait to read the next 2 books in the series!
