This was a bundle of the first five books in the series, and I absolutely loved all of them, even though Book 5 ended on a cliffhanger! Smoke, a prisoner, and Sid, a FBI agent, have to work together to capture monsters, although for Sid it is very difficult initially to admit that monsters do, indeed, exist. The developing relationship between these two (and I will not reveal what kind of relationship), the bizarre monsters they have to conquer, while at the same time dealing with back-stabbing ( This was a bundle of the first five books in the series, and I absolutely loved all of them, even though Book 5 ended on a cliffhanger! The plots are great, the stories written with a lot of humour and suspense, the characters are well developed, even the ones with minor roles - and over it all is the threat of something more sinister than the monsters. I can't wait to get the remaining five books in this series, and I will definitely try the other series of this author.

I read this bundle of the first five books in the series, and found it a quick enjoyable read. The description of the books intrigued me initially, and reading them was not like reading the typical supernatural books out there. It was, quite frankly, a bit of a breath of fresh air. The characters were fun, and it was a nice tie between all the books to watch the development of the Sid/Smoke dynamic. I think that the first book in the series was my favourite, simply because it was such a new concept, and the rest followed on from there, but getting a bit deeper into the characters backgrounds as well. I did feel at times that I was reading a graphic novel brought to literature with all of the onomatopoeia with the gunshot sounds and italics for thought bubbles. It started to get a little irritating toward the end, but I do admit that it fit the story. If I got the chance to read the next bundle, I’d snap it up as I’m interested in seeing how the cliffhanger of the last book progresses...

The first two books in this set ("Smoke Rising" and "I Smell Smoke" I rated 4.4 because they were different and enjoyable. As I read "Where There's Smoke", "Smoke on the Water" and "Smoke & Mirrors, I began to dislike the character, Sid. The more I read, the less I liked. By the final book, I had to rate it 3 stars. It's hard to enjoy a book when one of the main characters is unlikeable. The first two books in this set ("Smoke Rising" and "I Smell Smoke" I rated 4.4 because they were different and enjoyable. Enjoyable I found the first five books of this series really good. There are some slight editing issues, but they are not enough to affect the overall storyline. The characters are likeable, although a tad over the top. If you enjoy fantasy/monsters/conspiracy theories, give these books a chance.

I agree with all the 5-star reviews. I'm giving it a 3 because you're sailing along and it ends "in the middle" instead of completing the story line. I wish there was a way to warn readers that it is not a self-contained story. I guess my rating is more about the format (interrupted) than about the writer, characters, and dialogue. Which is why I've changed my rating from a 3 to a 5.

This is a witty,action-packed rollercoaster of a series! Full of modern references, this author wants you to have fun while his characters battle supernatural baddies and goverment red tape, and resist a growing attraction to each other..superior writing,a must read! But only if you want to have fun while doing it.

I enjoyed Craig's Nath Dragon series and I have really enjoyed Smoke and Sid. The characters work well together and the story line was well written. Books 1-5 were good and now on to 6-10.

Best ever Love this book was really rooting for Smoke and Sid to be together. This is a book that was very hard time to put down. Also loved the way they added some pictures in between the chapters to let you see some of the main characters. That was great. Now on to the next series 6 thru 10.....happy reading

FBI agent Sidney Shaw (female) becomes the handler of mysterious prisoner John Smoke, a maveric bounty hunter. In each book they are sent against a different type of fiendish shape shifter. Gun battles include lots of 'blat! blat!' and 'blam! blam!', or even 'blam! blam! blam! blam! blam! blam! click!' Very "comic book". It's a quick, light read, but it's no competition for Jim Butcher's Dresden Files.

What a GREAT READ!!!!! Sidney Shaw, a very dedicated FBI agent appears to have stepped into a different kind of world, an unbelievable world. She certainly wouldn't have believed it, if she hadn't witnessed the "oddities" with her own eyes. Sid was introduced to a man called Smoke. He was in prison for numerous convictions he had incurred as a Bounty Hunter. She tried hard not to like him but as each story unfolds, she appears to warm up to him, a little. Sidney is a straight shooter and a good agent but the cases she and Smoke are involved in are not the usual cases the FBI deals with. She never seems to get ALL the information necessary to help her proceed in these Supernatural cases because????????????Read and find out! Please, if you are into good mysteries, get this bundle of Mr. Halloran's "Supernatural Bounty Hunters" because his writing is believable, to put it mildly. Great read, as are all his Fantasy books. and............ENJOY ENJOY

Writing is simple. Most of the characters cardboard cut outs, like television thriller shows. / Very readable. Kills time. Possible wastes time but no more so than watching Grimm on the telly. (Unlike, Supernatural which is a privilege.) I may keep reading them until the day I die. Bet I die before the author stops writing. It is not taking me away from reading the History of Asia because that is for more serious reading time. I can read about Smoke and whats-her-name while listening Demi Lovato Writing is simple. Wow! Amazing! Enthusiastically enticing I didn't have high hopes in this series. I grabbed it and figured why not. I read this continuously from start to finish. I couldn't be more enthralled, captivated and moved by this series. I will say there was some things in the book that I didn't like. No sexy time between smoke and Sid. Man, I'm waiting and waiting. Come on sexy time.

Exciting! A series of books that for me was on my mind most of my time, wanting to get back to reading. Exciting, humor, suspense, a great science fiction touch to make these books a joy to add to my book collection. If you want to be grabbed from beginning to end these books are for you.

Too much like a comic book! I wondered if on turning the page I'd see a big balloon with KA-BLAM inside. The story was good, if a bit far fetched! Smoke & Sid were great but I kept feeling like I was reading a comic book sans pics, until you provided the pics! The sound effects descriptive words only reinforced the comic book feel. Smoke I really enjoyed reading the first 5 books in this series, and look forward to reading the next five. The story has all the things that make reading my favorite thing to do-mystery, nefarious supernatural creatures, well developed heroine and hero, surprises, romance, strange supporting characters, and best of all a rousing storyline!

Not buying it I am not buying that there is a "love connection" between Sid and Smoke. The characters and their relationship need to be fleshed out a bit more. I felt like I was reading a second draft rather that the final copy. The action scenes seemed pretty complete but the rest felt minimal and flat.

I barely made it through the first book. The narrative uninspired, the storyline and characters so full of clichés that there is no room left for any original thought; on top of everything, the "heroine" is beyond annoying.

Good Booksi I enjoyed this Series of books although I find them immoral for tube most part. Too bad some writers simply do not understand they do not have to lower themselves to succeed.
