I liked this book because it because it had a great mystery in it. Someone stole the original Mozart! There were a lot of suspects like Melody, Janet Muller, a man in a black suit, and Bob Weldon. In this book the Boxcar Children are excited to hear the orchestra play, to meet the musicians, and to learn how to make their own instruments, a valuable item mysteriously disappears, it's up to the children to find it. Some of the subjects in the book are music, siblings, mystery, friendship, working I liked this book because it because it had a great mystery in it. Someone stole the original Mozart! Some of the subjects in the book are music, siblings, mystery, friendship, working together, and problem solving. This book keeps children and adults entertained. It is award winning and never seems to stop being a loved treasure by many readers! This would be a good lesson for teaching about “not to steal” and why it is wrong in class. Putting students into groups after each read aloud session to begin to make outline of the story, and have a focus on the importance to do what is right. The students could create a chart or table explaining the effects the “thief” had on others outside of himself. Also in class, this would be a good book to compare with a modern day mystery. These books are quite different from today’s mysteries for children. Often today we see much “darker” books about vampires and demons. This book takes a simple mystery and turns it into a loved classic. The class could simply compare and contrast differences from that book to a current book of their choice.

One of the more easier to swallow books. The kids are excited about the visit of the orchestra. Someone steals Mozart's score (as if a Mozart score would just be passed around, with no preservation or anything in thought) and there is your mystery. In this one, the crime was more opportunity than anything else, but it does show the weakness in some human character.

One of my favorite childhood series. I read over a hundred of them. The first 50 or so were in order; after that I read whatever book I could get my hands on :)
