Through Brantley and Taylor's books we got a peek into what may have been going on with Christian. In this book, we see just how deep badass runs with Christian. More than that, we also see the flaws and cracks that were evident from the earlier Princes of Prophecy books. Christian had a raw deal. When you can see so much, how much does it suck when no one can see you? worse, what about when no one can touch you? Thank goodness for the Blackhawk family, Dean and Dakota. I do have concerns about some tendencies in LB that mirror Pres. But I'm glad he'll pull his head out of his a** faster. It helps to be a reader and having VP as a dad. Overall, I still love this series and am excited about the next one.

Another great book. Christian and his Little Pixie are an amazing match. The turmoil with Pres and Christian is crazy. Christian and his Little Pixie are an amazing match. The turmoil between Pres and Christian is crazy. Glad the disconnect was fixed.

"Christian" (The Protectors Book 1) by L Ann Marie is a great read. I loved Christian and Dean's story. This story has drama, action, passion, the freaky kids and all their abilities, MC life, Brotherhood, entertaining characters, and more. This book made me laugh, cry, get mad, yet I still loved it. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next! Recommend to all fans of romance, and MC.

I first started by reading MC: Knight and then realised that I wanted the whole story and that started with the Baxter's .. although the first books didn't have a lot of crossovers they did set the scene for what is to come in the other books as the stories move along so their importance to the series' as a whole cannot be overstated I have just read the 22 books to date back to back in the order published on the author's website and decided to review them as a whole. I really don't think they stand well as stand alones as there are too many common threads, too much history and too much character crossover for that so it really is one (very) long story over a very long period of time with each series concentrating on a particular character group but including all of the others (except for the initial Baxter books which didn't have a lot of MC action but did set the scene for a lot of what is to come). I loved every book although of course some more than others but i am giving an overall five star rating. My biggest issue was that sometimes (often) i found it difficult to be sure exactly who was talking and had to reread sections to try to work it out. I think that perhaps what the author is seeing in her head moves a bit too fast to translate well to the written word for some of us (something like the thoughts of some of her characters - you need to read the stories to understand my thought process here!!) My other issue was keeping my head straight with the cast of thousands (and this is not an exaggeration) ... with each story building on to what has come before and what will come to be and with most characters continuing to play a place in each consecutive story I found myself constantly stopping to think - now who was that, whose child is that, whose partner is that???? but even amongst that confusion I loved the relationships and the strengths they provided. The author has an amazing imagination and has brought to the table a fantastic story that i will continue to read and at some point will def read again. I have always loved and had an interest in native american philosophy and also in paranormal and psychic connections and love the way these are ingrained into the books as the stories unfold. Although there were some things that caused me slight annoyances I cannot deny that as a whole this fits as one of the best series i have enjoyed. my thanks to the author for providing such a thoroughly engaging tale I took a bit longer reading this one for a couple of reasons ... firstly it was very long & secondly it required a lot more concentration. One disappointment for this book was that I felt Dean was a little underrated and didn't get enough face time in the story. her importance to Christian and his well being can't be overlooked and just didn't quite play as a strong enough role for me. She seemed almost like background and this book played more to the importance of the ongoing drama than the strong romantic link apparent in the other books

With the outside world going crazy around me, I turned to a series I can usually count on for an OTT romantic escape. As the series has progressed, I’ve grown attached to the characters. As the series has progressed, I’ve grown attached to the characters. The sheer uniqueness of the stories had me willing to look past editing problems. I’ve been waiting for Christian’s book for a long time but it wasn’t what I anticipated it to be. Christian has always intrigued me, even when he was a kid. He seemed to fill the protector role, constantly watching over his loved ones. He’s led a sad existence because of his brutal visions and ability to read people and ended up being somewhat separated from his family. I can’t say I loved Dean, but I did like her. This series usually has strong heroines with strengths and abilities which can often surpass their partners. Yes, Dean had some abilities as a reader, but we never got to see her excel at anything, much less see her in action. Instead, I think not only her story, but her and Christian’s romance was shortchanged because of everything else going on in this book. I’m all for showcasing worthy causes in a story and have enjoyed some of the storylines about PTSD and disabilities in past books in this series. But there was an overwhelming level of almost “preachy” messages on religious zealots, big oil, environmental and pro-choice topics. Not only did it overcrowd each message, it also detracted from the main plot. Another huge issue I had was that besides the crazy religious zealots out to kill anyone deemed different than them, one of the main antagonists was one of the most beloved and respected heroes of the MC series. Evidently, he’s had a complete lobotomy at some point, because that’s the only reason I can come up with for his complete personality change. I also couldn’t swallow that the other MC members sat back and let him do the things he did over several years. That entire story line just did not work for me. Amidst all the OTT aspects, things just went too far and derailed for me when toddlers were coming up with solutions to the world’s problems, not to mention View Spoiler ». I did, however, like the Jedi-like abilities some of the characters with special talents developed. I’m waiting for the toddlers to “invent” light sabers for them next since they seem so capable of coming up with fantastic and unbelievable things. Regrettably, this book had so many different messages and causes, you could barely find the romance. What I have loved most about this series is the interesting characters, so the absolute worst thing was turning one of my favorites into an asshat. In the end, I needed an escape from my escape. 2 Don’t Play With My Heroes Stars This review and more can be found at EDGy Reviews

Love all the books in this series and the spin offs. Always takes me a couple of chapters to remember who all the characters are from past books as the names come at you at high speed.

I absolutely loved this book! It almost made me cry which is a huge thing! Christian has had to live his life without touch. Being a freaky kid he is already different but the no touch rule makes it much worse. Life without touch is extremely lonely. Now that he has the training he so desperately needed as a kid he is close to his family again. It helps but there are many dreams like marriage and kids that he cannot have. When she tries to use her skills to help the police save lives she becomes hunted by those who do not understand and believe she is evil. After losing her parents her and her sister go on the run. Her existence is lonely and the few she could confide in become even fewer. How are you supposed to live without touch and only your sister to confide in. She wants love and a family but it doesn't seem to be part of her story. Follow these two amazing people on a crazy ride of trying to find love!

Wow...another amazing book from L Ann Marie. As we've been on this journey with this author from the beginning, the characters become almost real. To watch them grow up and develop it's like a proud parent reading how they've turned out and to become the most amazing group of young men and women. This book is how Christian develops into the most amazing Protector for not only the Princes but also the Mc and the Reservation. He leads his protectors and guides them on their journey along with him. Wow...another amazing book from L Ann Marie. He leads his protectors and guides them on their journey along with him. At times his story is heartbreaking in that it was a very lonely journey Unable to sustain much human contact he became almost isolated as a young boy and later a man. When he finds his 'one' he finally finds a peace and acceptance he's been missing. Although this is only the start of his journey into who he becomes. It takes you on a rolllercoaster of emotions and beware Kleenex may be needed. Although this is the start of a new series it follows on from the Princes of Phrophecy. I can't stress highly enough just what an amazing series of books these are. I highly recommend it.

Another amazing book in an awesome series! I absolutely loved this book! There were tears, anger, relief, and joy. I feel like the whole series came together in this book. So much was explained and tied together from the Protectors to the Princes to the MC. Have to be honest, Pres was pissing me off but unity and loyalty is in their blood. Loved the ending and absolutely can not wait to read Ricky's story!

I loved reading "Christian". Had a hard time putting it down. I love those kids. Reading the very first book of the MC series then the Prince's series, I've grown attached to those "freaky kids" and how they have grown up. OMG! Christian's HEA! This book rocked my emotions more than the others that came before. I have long been a fan of Christian. I watched as he pulled away from everyone to live a solitary life. I thought I understood why but it was so much worse than I could have guessed. I must have gone through an entire box of Kleenex reading this book. He and Dean are so good together! Both are broken but they put each other back together. I absolutely loved this book!

I seriously love these books! The author has a way of just grabbing me and not letting go until I finish the whole thing! I was so excited when I found out this book was going to be Christian's book. He is a character I've always wandered about with how he sees so much but always seemed so lonely. Awesome start to the new series by L Ann Marie We have seen Christian grow up. As one of the freaky kids his abilities have left him alone a lot but when he moves to the Princes things change. Dean is on the run from people trying to killer her. Both know what it's like to be lonely. They never thought the would feel someone touching them that didn't affect them negatively. This book is packed with freaky kids stuff, crazy MC, and more trouble than you can shake a stick at.

Christian and Dean This book was a great addition to the series. It was nice being able to learn more about Christian and what he has all gone through. At points it was confusing to read from Christians POV. He has so much going on in his head and keeps track of so many people that it was hard to follow at times. He meets Dean and they are soul mates.
