I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This was an incredible book that I really enjoyed. It was imaginative and intricate and it really pulled me into the plot and the story and the characters. I liked the take on werewolves, and it felt really refreshing. I loved the relationship between Andee and Alwyn. I really didn’t want to put it down.

When a murder victim is left in an unusual way, FBI agent, Andee Trakes is called in to investigate. Her investigation takes a strange turn when she sets out to interview an expert on werewolves to help her gain progress in the case. Then things get weird, and the story gets even better. I loved the mystery, suspense, and romance in Shadow of the Moon. Overall, I rate it with four huge stars and look forward to more books by Griffeth. http://www.boundlessbookreviews.com https://www.facebook.com/BBR When a murder victim is left in an unusual way, FBI agent, Andee Trakes is called in to investigate. If you like paranormal mystery, this might be right up your lane. What got my attention were the blurb and the cover literally. First the cover kept my eyes glued to it and then the blurb drew me in with the words "murder" and "FBI". Seriously, what else does a girl who loves reading about suspenseful reads about murders want? The paranormal aspect about the werewolves didn't even ping my mind till later! And I love reading about them. So I was very much interested in the book from the beginning. If you like paranormal mystery, this might be right up your lane. And I love reading about them. So I was very much interested in the book from the beginning. The starting was a bit slow. I don't mean the murder part. That part of the first few pages was intriguing and had my eyes peeled to know more. The meeting with Alwyn and the further look into the werewolves society was slow for me. I was expecting a bit more action I believe. But I loved the different take on the paranormal. It was varying and engrossing. The history behind the society created by the author was fun to read and I enjoyed it a lot. The romance between Alwyn and Andee was very interesting and arresting. But I felt as if they went through a lot of "tantrums". I don't know what else to call them. And it was the same between Andee and Miranda though I loved their friendly banter. The ending didn't satisfy me at all. I was expecting the answers to all of my questions. But no! the author had to leave me hanging. Now I am wondering if there is a sequel to the book. Is there one? Let me know if anyone knows. For now I await to continue the story. Because I am sure their story has just started! I received a free copy voluntarily for reviewing purposes. My one line review : A widely interesting take on werewolves with a mystery thrown in. My rating : 4/5 My reread factor : 3/5

SHADOW OF THE MOON is a contemporary whodunit mystery with a touch of romance and is my first book by author Kwen Griffeth. FBI Special Agent Andee Trakes is on the hunt for a killer. The trail takes her to a history professor, Alwyn Lloyd, who knows a hell of a lot more than Andee bargained for! This is a relatively "clean" romance (no sex), it just gives us that tease of what could be between Andee and Alwyn. Andee is my favorite kind of character...badass and unapologetic about it! And Alywn...well he's the "Unum", the head alpha so he's pretty badass too but also loyal, devoted to his family and full of respect for his history. They were both so stubborn in their own ways, I felt like Alywn and Andee made the perfect pair! I truly enjoyed the storyline. I thought it was a great take on an old trope and I loved the mysterious threats that were twisted in the plot. The only thing that kind of distracted me from the story was the stilted dialogue. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not but I sometimes felt like the banter was a little TOO formal and stiff. But overall, it was a good first read from Mr. Griffeth! Maybe we'll see more from these enigmatic characters in the future?? Told from various POVS with a happy ending.

I hope this is not the last we hear of Andee and Alwyn, Miranda too. Owen Griffeth, thank you for this great read! I listened to the Audible edition, Paul J. McSorley is a fabulous narrator. He performs all the voices, giving each character a distinct sound. He sets a perfect tone and pace, adds the right amount of dramatic flair to the story. “Shadow of the Moon” is definitely another winner from Kevin Griffeth! The story combines the best aspects of the supernatural genre: a gory murder, a violent killer on the loose, a young and ambitious FBI agent hunting him, and a mysterious professor Alwyn Lloyd, who suggests the unimaginable - that a werewolf could possibly have been involved. I enjoyed following the dynamics of Andee and Alwyn’s relationship which soon grew from purely professional into something completely different. Alwyn’s clan history, traditions, and lifestyle were also incredibly interesting to read about as it definitely offered a new take on werewolves and their place in the modern world. Besides the suspenseful, fast-moving plot, I also enjoyed the compelling kaleidoscope of characters besides the two main ones, each and every one contributing to this riveting story. By the end, the thrilling aspect made it nearly impossible to put the book down, and that’s definitely a sign of some great writing! Loved it!

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I couldn't put this story down. It is everything the writeup says it is. It is fast paced (sometimes too fast). There are things that come out in the end that you think are strange when you read/hear them earlier in the story. There is romance, thrill, suspense and fantasy. Everything wrapped up in one story. This book offers some very funny and some very sad sections. The narrator did an excellent job with the characters. I felt what the char I received this audiobook free for an honest review. Do werewolves exist? This was the question that FBI agent Andee Trakes had to wrestle with after a grizzly murder in Central Park. I have to admit, I don't usually like stories that involve vampires and werewolves, but this story wasn't what I expected. The blooming romance of the main characters kept me glued to the book from the very beginning. Beginning with a murder is always a eye-catcher. Even if you're not a fan of werewolves, I doubt you'll be disappointed in this one. I couldn't put it down.

The writing was generally very good. Imagery was excellent and the character background was good. No steam in the romance however and the resolution seemed too short with not enough foreshadowing.

I listened to the audiobook version of this book. I love when authors combine multiple genres like Kwen Griffeth did in this book. This whole listen was absolutely captivating from the first minute to the last. We get a combination of romance with werewolves and law enforcement as well as a rogue. All the characters are very well written and we get a good background on them. This author is new to me, but I would love to listen to more of her work because this book really impressed me. I think he really captured the tone and intensity of the characters. His voice make this excellent story into a full blown masterpiece.  Can't wait for more by this author and narrator. What a fantasy, I think. Man wolves, she wolves, history, NYPD, FBI, helicopters, executions, historical data, Unum, families, it goes on and on. Including wolf love and other stuff. I didn`t think I would read this to the end, but it kept getting more interesting. If you liked Snow White and Cinderella, why wouldn't you like this story? Speaking of Disney ( or HBO or SHO or Netflix), this would be pretty interesting as a short miniseries or something. I think most everyone would like reading thi What a fantasy, I think. Entertaining paranormal murder mystery. The characters and storyline are entertaining and held my attention. The fight scene was very well done! At the end of the story I wanted more. I want to know who hired the wolf!! The narrator did a good job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene.
