From simplistic to sublime: respect, anguish, devotion, betrayal, pain, parental issues, a mini-ad to learn to write poetry hidden in between two poems, even algebra, and a bad haiku, are in here. Reading Charles M. Stokes' Love Pain & Poetry was like consuming a gilded serving tray's worth of handcrafted deserts: I should have savored each one slowly but I could't resist gobbling them up. Now I'm overwhelmed with multiple emotions. ** I received a signed copy from the author #GoodreadsGiveaway From simplistic to sublime: respect, anguish, devotion, betrayal, pain, parental issues, a mini-ad to learn to write poetry hidden in between two poems, even algebra, and a bad haiku, are in here. Epic Poetry I liked most of the poems in this book. One of my favorites is Fall. I definitely felt the love and pain in this authors poetry. I would recommend this poetry book to anyone who likes poetry. I would like this author to put his poetry in an audio book. I look forward to reading more poetry from this author!

This was a Goodreads.com ARC giveaway. Stokes self published his poetical muses. Most of these relate to tumultuous romantic relationships. The author said he does not consider himself a poet. He encourages readers to write for therapeutic reasons as he has done.
