Though she'd always wanted to live a meaningful life, at the end of her marriage, Eva felt more lost than she'd ever been. It had been years since she had left behind her evangelical Christian religion with all its certainty about the answers to the big life questions: Who am I? Why am I here? What is my life for? And how do I maintain relationships without losing the essence of my own being? Rather than attaching herself to yet another "solid rock" of certainty, Eva chose to allow mystery, to be present to shadow and to light, and to face her fears, wounds, and emotional baggage. Through her 3-year journey of inward surrender, she came to know intimately her own inner love, healed her trauma, and found herself. In this powerful memoir told in poetry and narrative, Eva shares the story of how she came alive.

I was inspired to be a Beta reader for Eva Live’s “Being and Belonging”, She transparently, courageously and articulately takes us through her journey from being caged in fundamentalist religion through deep, layered inquiry about the nature of surrender, worthiness and intimacy, to celebrating knowing and loving herself. I related to her experience of having a compelling need to leave marriage and other constraining relationships in search of authenticity and full, embodied aliveness, Eva’s sto I was inspired to be a Beta reader for Eva Live’s “Being and Belonging”, She transparently, courageously and articulately takes us through her journey from being caged in fundamentalist religion through deep, layered inquiry about the nature of surrender, worthiness and intimacy, to celebrating knowing and loving herself. From the moment I began reading, I knew I had found the REAL truth: that it lies within each of our own inner being and belongs to only us. This author helped me understand what authentic truth is and how easy it is to access when we let go of someone else's idea of what it means for us. She does it with breathless energy that kept me on the edge of my seat until I found myself quickly and sadly, at the end of the book. If you have ever wondered whether you had achieved your potential in this quest for human flourishing, you will want to read the beautiful prose that Eva gives us on her journey to LIVE a spiritual life. I'm so grateful for this gift of being and look forward to sharing it with all my loved ones.

I won this book on goodreads giveaways. I have always loved poetry. Even though, I hadn't heard of Eva Live, it sounded like a really good book and it was. Eva's book of poetry explains her journey on each chapter. It is so nice to see where the poetry comes from. Some of her poems are dedicated to other people. It is nice to explore her life's journey. She has gone through a lot ( like most of us) and is striving to become a better and more spiritual being. The book is honest and raw. It is beaut I won this book on goodreads giveaways. It is beautiful that she allows us to see her bad relationships ( including family) and see how she grows from them. In the end, she becomes more accepting and loving to herself. Can't wait to read more from her.

I was given an advance copy of the poetry book Being and Belonging. To arrive at the last past page of a book and realize you are finding a beginning is a special gift. This work of poetry took me on a remarkable journey with the author, as she navigated life with a fierceness and honesty, that challenges the reader to do as well. Reading the timeline of such a personal journey told through poetry gives a uniquely refreshing voice and pace to the journey of becoming, being, and belonging. As a lover of deep and meaningful memoirs, I was excited to read this book. I was captured by the poetry and appreciated the guiding backdrops offered along the way. Its raw, insightful, and sometimes edgy prose painted a beautiful picture of Eva's courageous journey that most anyone can relate to if they are participating in their life. Helpful and motivating, I recommend that everyone read this book while putting their own stamp of understanding on its unusual take on awakening to one's true s As a lover of deep and meaningful memoirs, I was excited to read this book. Sometimes darker than I imagined, this book was a healing memoir for the author, whose acknowledgements perhaps explained the process better than anything else.
